Lawn Care Software Without the Monthly SaaS Bill
Stop forcing your lawn care business into generic software. I build a focused web application around the way your company actually works - from estimate requests and property records to recurring services, crew schedules, job completion and invoices.
- One-time development
- Self-hosted
- Built around your workflow
- No mandatory monthly subscription
Still Running the Season Through Spreadsheets, Texts and Phone Calls?
Most lawn care and landscaping companies I talk to are not short on work. They are short on a single place where the work lives.
- Customer and property details spread across several spreadsheets
- Crews getting tomorrow's stops by text message the night before
- Recurring mows tracked by hand in a shared calendar
- Estimates written out one at a time, then forgotten if nobody follows up
- Customers calling the office to ask when someone is coming
- Job notes, gate codes and photos living on whichever phone took them
- Invoices handled separately from the jobs that earned them
- Paying every month for software whose features you barely touch
You do not always need another expensive SaaS subscription. Sometimes you need a small system designed specifically around your workflow.
What I Build
These are the building blocks I most often put together for service businesses. Each one is shaped to your process rather than dropped in as-is.
Customer & Property Management
Customers, contact details, billing addresses and every property you service - with gate codes, access notes, lot details and full service history attached to the property, not buried in someone's phone.
Lead & Quote Management
Capture estimate requests from your website, build quotes from your own pricing, send them, and see at a glance which ones are waiting on a decision and which need a follow-up.
Scheduling & Recurring Services
Weekly, bi-weekly and seasonal services that generate their own visits, plus one-off jobs, crew availability and the whole week on a single calendar you can reshuffle when it rains.
Job Management
Create jobs, assign a crew, track status from scheduled to complete, and let the field add notes, measurements and before/after photos against the job itself.
Customer Portal
An optional login where customers see upcoming visits, service history, quotes and invoices, and can request extra work - which is usually what stops the phone ringing for status updates.
Crew & Employee Access
A mobile-friendly day sheet that shows a crew only their stops, the notes they need and the completion steps they owe you - without opening up the whole admin side.
Invoicing & Payments
Turn completed work into invoices, track what is outstanding, and optionally take card or ACH payments through a processor you choose.
Notifications & Automation
Email or SMS for appointment reminders, on-the-way notices, job completion, quote follow-ups and overdue invoices, so routine communication stops depending on somebody remembering.
Reports & Dashboards
A clear view of jobs completed, revenue, open quotes, recurring contracts and outstanding invoices - the numbers you currently reconstruct by hand at month end.
Build only what your business actually needs.
What Could This Look Like For Your Business?
Lawn care is where this started, but the same shape of system fits most scheduled, crew-based service work. Here is how the workflow differs by trade.

Why Build Your Own Instead of Paying for Another SaaS?
No mandatory monthly software subscription
You pay for development rather than paying me every month for access to the application itself.
Built around your workflow
Your pricing, your service types, your crew structure - you do not rearrange how you work to fit someone else's product.
You control your data
The application can be deployed on infrastructure you control, with your customer data in a database you own access to.
No unnecessary features
Build the handful of things that save you real time instead of paying for a large platform where most of it is noise.
Extend it later
Start with the piece that hurts most and add modules as the business grows and new problems surface.
Integrations when needed
Connect payment processors, email and SMS providers, maps, calendars and accounting tools where it makes sense to.
How It Works
Understand your workflow
We go through how you handle customers, properties, quotes, scheduling, crews, payments and communication today - including the parts that currently live in someone's head.
Define the MVP
We pick the features that will actually save hours or win work, and deliberately leave the rest for later.
Build
I design and develop the application around that workflow, showing you working software as it comes together rather than at the end.
Deploy
The application is deployed to a server or hosting environment you control, and I walk your team through using it.
Improve
Additional features, integrations, maintenance and support can be added afterwards when there is a reason to.
You Own the Application
The goal is not to keep you dependent on another monthly software subscription. The application is developed for your business and can be deployed on infrastructure you control.
- Application and source ownership terms are agreed in writing before development starts
- Self-hosting on your own server or hosting account is supported
- Your business and customer data stays under your control
- Maintenance, updates and further development are available separately, not required
Running the application still involves ordinary infrastructure costs - server or hosting, a domain, email and SMS providers, payment processing fees and any third-party APIs you use. What there is no mandatory recurring subscription for is the software itself.
One-Time Development. Built Around Your Needs.
Every one of these applications is different, so there is no honest fixed price to put on this page. A focused workflow application is far smaller than a full platform - we start with the features that solve your biggest problem and expand only when there is a reason to.
No mandatory monthly software subscription for the application itself.
Questions
No mandatory monthly software subscription is required for the custom application itself. Normal hosting and third-party service costs - server, domain, email and SMS providers, payment processing - may still apply, and optional maintenance is billed separately if you want it.
Yes. The application can be deployed to infrastructure you control, depending on the project's technical requirements. We agree on the hosting setup during scoping so there are no surprises at deployment.
Yes. Depending on the service, integrations can be built for payments, email, SMS, maps, calendars, CRMs, accounting tools and other APIs. Which ones are practical depends on what those services expose.
No. The goal is to build only what your business needs. Most projects start with two or three modules that remove the worst of the manual work, and grow from there.
Where it is technically practical, existing spreadsheet and customer data can be imported into the new system. How clean the import is depends on how consistent the existing data is.
Yes. Ongoing maintenance, updates, bug fixes and additional features can be provided separately. This is an optional arrangement, not a condition of the build.
Yes. The system can start small - a single owner with two crews is a perfectly normal starting point - and grow as the business grows.
No. Instead of subscribing to a generic platform, this is custom software developed around your business workflow, which you can then run on your own infrastructure.
