Closest Hotel
Hotel search that ranks results by how long it actually takes to get there, rather than how close they look on a map.

The challenge
Hotel search sorts by distance, which is a poor stand-in for the thing a traveller actually cares about — how long it takes to get there. Closest Group wanted search built around travel time instead, across an inventory of several hundred thousand properties, without making the search form any harder to use than the ones people already know.
What I built
- Search by address or point of interest, with one-tap current-location detection
- Results ranked and filtered by travel time rather than straight-line distance
- Date range and room/guest selection driving live availability and pricing
- Booking flow over a large third-party hotel inventory
